In 2023, CEWAYE implemented a six-month Sustainable Agriculture and Agribusiness Capacity Building Project in Kamwenge, Kyitagwenda and Kikuube District, training 516 women and youth in climate-smart farming and agribusiness through workshops and demonstration farms. Participants received starter kits and continuous mentorship, enabling them to adopt improved farming techniques. The project led to a 42% increase in crop yields and a 58% rise in average monthly income, with 57 new agro-enterprises established. Overall, it enhanced food security, strengthened market access, and empowered rural households towards sustainable agricultural development in Kamwenge District.
